Artists talking: Premiere guest — Jenni-Elina von Bagh

Jenni-Elina von Bagh is a choreographer and performer based in Finland.

In her work, she is interested in resonating with timely philosophical themes, concepts, vibrations, and tunings of world, and translating these into the context of art and performance. She plays with what it means to fall between categories, organic and non-organic life, how to admit and lose control. She works with body, text and voice as a part of compositional play.

Her most recent works are “A Prologue” (2020), “Void- A Psychodrama” (2021), “As time goes by” (2023).

A long-time supporting member of Culture Current, Jenni-Elina has been practicing (Inter)acting with the Inner Partner in Culture Currents courses for over 10 years, and has also lead courses at Zodiak. She finds (Inter)acting with the Inner Partner to be a source for personal wellbeing, but most importantly, a rich source for practicing creativity and personal / collective artistry.

Jenni-Elina graduated from MA Program in Choreography at Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki (2018). Prior to that, she had a broad experience as a dancer and performer.

She has been Artistic Director of Zodiak, Center for New Dance, since February, 2023.
