Emmi Komlosi

Secretary

Emmi Komlosi is a theatre and drama teacher currently based in Helsinki. She received her MFA from the Theatre Academy in Helsinki in the field of theatre pedagogy. She received her BFA in community theatre from the Helsinki University of Applied Sciences. She has also studied under Adrian Jackson in London, England and Suzanne Osten from Stocholm, Sweden.

In the past few years, she had taught at Annantalo, a Helsinki City Arts House of Children and Youth center. She has taught children and youth all ages in different communities and institutions in Helsinki, Finland and Prague, Czech Republic. She has conducted several theatre-based projects, workshops and performances on a range of topics including identity, independence, gender roles and racism. She currently works at the Adult Education of Helsinki City (Työväenopisto).

Emmi is very enthusiastic about exploring the contributions that theatre and drama can have in education, politics and society. She is indefatigable defender of the weak and tries to find ways in her work to make the world a better place for all of us.

Emmi is a founding member of Culture Current. She also served as Culture Current's Vice-chair from 2022-23.
